H.A.S.
scientific library
H.A.S. library was founded
in 1998. At the heart of its lays principle of higher education
institute specialization – cultural anthropology and adjoining
domains. At the present moment library has all the possibilities
of educational process support. Total quantity of the reserves
– 14390 books (1015 manuals), total number of titles is 8379,
including 517 periodicals. 127 book titles fall to the share
of every H.A.S. student.
In 2000 H.A.S. library
got the grant of Soros Foundation to purchase books. Owing
to this occasion the great lot of Oxford publishing literature
has been purchased. Exchange with other foreign and Moldavian
educational and scientific centers (more than 37 foreign and
CIS institutions) is in progress. Library regularly receives
36 titles of periodicals. There’s a separate stock of digital
and video materials.
Basic
principle of library work: lending. There’s also
a specially equipped reading-room. The project of digital
bibliographic catalogue is in post-production. Exhibitions
of new entries and those dedicated to the anniversary occasions,
various historical figures, scientists and H.A.S. members are
regularly held in the library.
Editorial Board of «STRATUM-plus»
journal
Since 1999 the High Anthropological
School issues the international periodic magazine «Stratum
plus» devoted to actual scientific problems of cultural
anthropology and archeology. The magazine is published in
À4 demy six times a year as thematic series; each of the issues
is devoted to the particular historical epoch, or enough special
actual scientific problem. The subjects of magazine’s articles
are not limited regionally or chronologically. All publications
contain the resume in English.
Standing editorial boards are situated
in 4 cities - Kishinev (the basic one, where all materials
go through the full publishing cycle), St. Petersburg, Odessa
and Bucharest. In structure of the standing editorial board
25 scientists of 11 scientific centres of Kishinev, St. Petersburg,
Bucharest, Odessa and Simferopol are represented.
11 issues of magazine are already
published by the present moment. 12 monographies and 274 original
articles from 20 countries of the world - Moldova, Romania,
Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Germany,
the Great Britain, Italy, France, Belgium, Sweden, Norway,
the USA, Israel, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan are published.
Academicians of the High Anthropological School have written
2 of monographies and 29 articles.
