Mark E. Tkachuk
Born
on 26th of September 1966 in Republic of Moldova, Soroca.
In 1989 successfully graduates from the State University of
Kishinev, Department of History.
From 1982 worked
in the staff of MSSR Academy of Science archaeological expeditions
(Rudi - Orheiul Vechi).
In 1987 joins the
staff of Academy of Science archaeology department, Slavonic-Moldavian
archaeology.
In 1990 – 1992 –
probationer of History of Material Culture Institute (HMCI),
Antique department in Saint Petersburg.
In 1991 has accomplished
studying in the school of field archaeology in Sutton-Hoo
Suffolkshire (Great Britain).
In 1992 – 1994 –
post-graduate student of HMCI. In 1995 with scientific supervision
of K.K. Marchenko upheld «Getica. Culturo-genesis and cultural
transformation in Carpathian-Danube regions of VII-II centures
B.C.» Ph. D. thesis (opponents: M.B. Schiukin, L.S. Klejn).
In 1995-1998 – senior
scientific associate of the Institute of Archaeology in the
Republic of Moldova Academy of Science. In 1997-2000 – chairman
of scientific-educational Center «Rudi-Maetonium».
Since 1998 – rector
of the High Anthropological School university. Since 2000
– editor-in-chief of STRATUM
plus journal.
In 2001 – 2002 –
deputy of Republic of Moldova Parliament, member Permanent
Bureau of RM Parliament. Since June 2002 - Advisor to the
President of the Republic of Moldova on Internal Policy Issues.
Published more than
30 scientific works among which «archaeology of Freedom» (Kishinev,
1996). Author of the number of publicistic articles and essays
(«Triple Accounting», «What is Moldavia?», «The first Voronin’s
blow»).
Since 1995 researches
multi-strata Rudi la Shanturi near Rudi village (Dondusani
District) site of ancient settlement identified with the city
of Maetonium of Claudius Ptolemaeus Geography.
Scientific
interests: theoretical archaeology (problems of culture
changing and cultural catastrophe), technology of field researches,
Early Iron Age of the Eastern Europe, economical anthropology.
Prepares «archaeology
as anthropology» monographic work for publishing.
In the High Anthropological
School gives lectures: theory of Synergetics, cultural anthropology,
economical anthropology. Conducts archaeological records studies
and PR-technologies special seminars.
