Igor V. Bruyako
Born in 1963.
In 1988 graduated
from Mechnikov I.I. Odessa State University, Faculty of History.
From 1989 to 1993
- postuniversity studies for doctoral degree at the Ancient
Culture Department, History of Material Culture Institute
(St. Petersburg). In 1993 upheld Ph. D. Thesis.
From 1979 to 1981
- laboratory assistant at the Archaeology of North Western
Black Sea coast regions Department, Institute of Archaeology
of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences. Since 1984
– research associate in the Archaeological Museum (Odessa).
Participant of researches
on archaeological sites of different ages and cultures. The
most famous are: Niconia, Tyra, Altyn-Depe. Conducted research
works in acient city of Niconia. Head of «Orlovka: dialogue
of epochs and cultures» Project.
Scientific interests:
archaeology and Ancient History of Early Iron Age (Scythian-Thracian
studies and problems of Ancient History), palaeo-ecologic
and palaeo-economic reconstructions (Late Bronze and early
Iron Ages).
Author of more than
70 scientific works, including two monographies.
He is going to uphold
a doctoral thesis on Cultural genesis in Carpathian-Pontic
region in the 1st half of I Millennium B.C.
In the High Anthropological
School gives lectures on the History of Civilizations (History
of Ancient Greece and Rome); responsible editor and permanent
member of the editorial board of the International Journal
"Stratum plus" (i.e. third issue devoted to Ancient
period and early Iron Age).
